Jan Czudek studied telecommunications at the Brno University of Technology in 1983 and he has been working at Třinecké železárny (TŽ) since then except for a short break between 1993 and 1996. He has served in a number of roles including as the CEO of the subsidiary TŽ Inženýring. In 2000, he became a member of the Board of Directors of TŽ and Director for Management System Development. Between 2007-2011, he held the position of Director for Investment Director. Since 2012, he has been the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors. He is also the President of Ocelářská unie, the Czech steel association, and Vice-President of the hockey club HC Oceláři Třinec.
He is married and has two children. His hobbies include sports and amateur theatre, for which he has written several plays together with his wife.
